Basic Verannia Intro

Verannia; a land unlike many others but also very similar…

Verannia; a land where forest of huge, ancient trees glow blue and the fields look as if they are aflame. This land of mysterious and captivating beauty has drawn many into its clutches, and few return without stories of glory and awe. Monsters the size of Earth bears roam in the familiar forms of cats and wolves. The Opal Cats show no mercy even to their large enemies the Ever Wolves or the terrifying Gaza Birds, which resemble feathered dragons, once creatures of myth now come to life in an explosion of color and fury. Even more merciless than those birds who hunt in the sky or the giant wolves and cats who stalk all other animals in on the earth is the man who had laid claim to all of Verannia and its riches. 

Verannia; a land of vast riches, stunning landscapes, strange animals, and much more. Many have attempted to gain access to this mysterious place, and many have died in the battles waged over it. The largest battle decided the fate of the planet, and a single victor arose from the fighting. His name is Archie Wulf, a human male with a checkered past. In a previous battle the man had been terribly wounded, and the only way for him to live was an expensive surgery and the sacrifice of some of his very humanity. The man became half machine, his entire right side stripped away of flesh and bone and replaced with metal, wires, electricity, and machinery. This cyborg led an army of hired men to victory and closed off the planet to most trade. The only ones who got in, it was said, were the close allies of Archie and bandits. Such spacefarers told stories and rumors of the beauty and majesty of Verannia. They felt empowered due to the attention the 'Master of Verannia' gave them. For years it continued this way, strange technologies the Space Defense Force had never seen where placed up around the planet forming a barricade. No communications could be made with those who had made Verannia their home, and next to nothing was known about the planet for a decade.

Then, very suddenly, Verannia regained connections with the SDF and nearby planets. The barricade was partially removed so trade and visitors could enter, although everything was strictly watched and those who came in also had to leave. Verannia had changed from when it was first colonized. Archie's huge battleship dominated the skies, however it was accompanies by flying cities of varying sizes. On the land original colonists had deemed themselves natives and reverted back to more primitive ways. They lived in tribes and held their own celebrations, traditions and wars. It was said Archie and the tribes had once been at war, but there was no evidence of it aside from the tense peace he and the natives revered each other with. For the most part they were left on their own, each minding his own business. A year after Verannia had opened itself up to spacefarers once more, Archie declared he would be holding a tournament. Not much else was heard about it aside from that bounty hunters had been sent out to scatter letters around the known universes and to bring back any who interested them. Once they had been gathered, Verannia shut itself tighter than before, so no one could get near the planet during the competition.

According to SDF maps, there are seven large continents, much like Earth, and thousands of tiny islands. The planet is composed of 70% water and 30% land. The continents are as follows;
